Style crush: Rachel Khoo

28th October 2012

It’s no secret that I’ve been a lover of Parisienne style for ever and ever, so I was really excited earlier this year when I came across a programme on BBC Two called Little Paris Kitchen, starring a petite English girl with a penchant for French style.

Rachel Khoo has since become my go-to girl for fashspiration when I’m feeling a bit dull – her perky, demure, vintage inspired look (like her cooking) is simple, elegant and a breath of fresh air.

She’s frequently seen in polka dots, which is one of my all-time favourite prints, and she’s great at making the most of her curves with belted styles.

I’ve put together a little look inspired by Miss Khoo below.

Dress £25, Yumi; coat £65, Miss Selfridge; Lipstick, £6.49, Rimmel; bicycle £206.99, All About the Bike (thanks Hayley at Ceriselle for the bike link!)

Stylish happenings: Fun Fair

11th February 2011

Love vintage fashion? Make a date this Sunday (13 February) for the Gimme Shelter Vintage Fair at Bristol’s retro bowling alley The Lanes, where more than 20 vintage shops and traders will be opening their dressing up boxes and selling their wares. There’ll be vintage clothing, jewellery and accessories from the 1930s – 1980s, so whatever your style, you’re sure to unearth some treasures. The fair runs from 11am – 5pm, it’s free to get in and best of all, bargain hunters get a discount on bowling afterwards. Strike!
