Accessorize AW15 preview

As you can see from the style sheet above, this season’s key looks include 60s monochrome illusion-style prints, as well as some YSL inspired suits and tailoring. A full round-up of the trends will be presented on the catwalk at Bristol Fashion Week next week. This season’s trends are varied – from ladylike luxe styling, to cute and casual – so there should be something to suit every size, shape and style. It’s actually one of the most inclusive seasons of trends I’ve seen in a long while, so I can’t wait to see how everyone interprets the looks for themselves.

Leather totes Accessorize

Another key look for this season is 70s inspired boho chic, and Accessorize have the perfect accompaniment to this trend – these buttery soft leather totes. As my colleagues will tell you, most of my handbags are the size of a small child because I can’t leave the house without making sure I’ve packed everything! I am thinking of downsizing though and perhaps opting for a sleek and stylish tote like one of these.

Clair from All About Clair

Interestingly, many of the girls turned up already wearing a couple of this season’s must-have trends. As you can see above, Clair from All About Clair is already working the 70s look with this suedette jacket from George at Asda – I loved this look and couldn’t believe the price for this jacket! (Under £20 for one of this season’s hottest looks?! Bargain!)

Kitsch bag Accessorize

As well as a seriously luxe selection of 70s inspired leather and suede bags, Accessorize also has a gorgeous selection of Anya Hindmarch inspired kitsch shoulder bags in various designs including this chocolate milk one, which all the bloggers were drooling over!

Accessorize goody bag

This season the brand has launched a whole new range of beauty products in a surprisingly huge variety of colours and shades, which they were kind enough to gift us as part of their goody bags. I can see these products making great stocking fillers because the packaging is just adorable and the price points are really reasonable, with lip glosses from £6. But of course, my favourite item was the pom pom keyring – pom poms are going to be huge this season, we’ll see them on bags and purses on the catwalk and all over the high street – you heard it here first!

Bristol Fashion Week runs from 30 September – 4 October at The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, with 17 catwalk shows presented by Mark Heyes and Denise Van Outen. Get your tickets online at mallcribbs.com. Don’t forget to follow the hashtag #BristolFashionWeek for the latest updates from the shows.

Disclosure: I run PR and social media for Bristol Fashion Week, but the views in this post are entirely my own.

Matchy matchy fashion bloggers

Good fashion fortune comes in twos this season. Time to find a blogging buddy and pair up…

On my recent visit to London Fashion Week, I noticed something startling about the beautiful people wandering around Somerset House – there were nearly always two of them. Yes, a fashion double is this season’s must-have look, apparently. It’s no longer enough to be one really dressed person, you need to be two; blogging duos are where it’s at.

I met up with Bristol bloggettes She and Hem, whom I’ve photographed a few times and are delightful to work with. So similar are these two, many people can’t tell where Jo ends and Victoria begins. Walking with them around London Fashion Week was like being in a trilby-wearing, celeb entourage. People were snapping them like crazy and asking if they were twins.

“Blogging with a partner is fantastic as not only does it mean you have someone to share ideas, blogging duties and responsibilities with but you also have someone with you every step of the way on what is an incredibly fun and, in our case most definitely life changing, journey. I don’t think either of us could ever imagine trying to blog solo,” said Jo/Victoria…to be honest I’m not sure which one said it.

“We support each other a lot (seriously, you should see how many texts we exchange) and that can really help with confidence in all areas of blogging. We also have a heck of a lot of fun as essentially blogging as a duo means hanging out with your best friend and a DSLR all of the time,” said the other one. (Waa! It’s like they’re talking in stereo. How can I not remember which one is which after knowing them for so long…? Jo or Victoria, Jo or Victoria?…I’ll go with Jictoria!)

All of this has made me think that having a double looks like jolly good fun. Who doesn’t want to have a friend with whom you can swap clothes, pose for cute pictures and confuse the hell out of other people? So, if you’re out there, my doppelgänger, I am available for matchy matchy funsies. Call me, ok?

Best blogging duos

In the meantime, here are a few of my favourite blogging doubles…

She and Hem: Obvs. Jo and Victoria are the West Country’s answer to peaches and cream, to gin and lemonade, to…um, well, they go really well together, ok? They both love an A-line dress and a whiff of retro, and have a great knack for making a trend their own.

We are Twinset: I met Sarah (or was it Philippa?!) working on Bristol Fashion Week and it was Mark Heyes who alerted me to the fact that she had an equally chic double! I can’t get enough of their sleek London look.

The Style Rawr: Jade and Tara actually live in different cities, so I’ve never seen them in the same room. (Perhaps they are secretly the same person?) Either way, their blog is a lush mix of styles and they’re fabulous at accessorising.

Sugar & Spice: I discovered Madeleine and KayKay via Teen Vogue. (And yes, I am aware I’m too old for Teen Vogue but I like to feel young sometimes, ok?) These two are based in the US and their Tumblr blog offers a really sweet mix of down-home Texas style and LA cool. And they’re so pretty it makes you feel a bit sick.

Have I missed any good ones? Let me know if you’ve found any awesome blogging duos…
